Erasmus+ is a program that places a strong emphasis on social inclusion, ecological transitions, and digitalization. Since last year, TADA has been participating in this program, developing various projects to promote the inclusion of young people from vulnerable backgrounds, in collaboration with other European organizations.

In this context, TADA collaborated with IPES, a Slovenian research institute focused on gender equality. After mutual exchanges of best practices, TADA and IPES co-created a workshop for the students of the weekend school on gender stereotypes in education, as well as a multi-day training program for TADA’s teaching staff who work with these young people. This workshop was conducted in 7 French-speaking classes at the Schaerbeek, Saint-Josse, and Anderlecht branches.
The positive impact of this project is tangible, as it raised awareness among both the youth and TADA employees about inclusion and gender equality—concepts they will continue to promote as they grow within their community and profession.
Empathearty is another Erasmus+ project aimed at making theater more accessible to young people with fewer opportunities, particularly those from vulnerable backgrounds.The goal is to encourage young people’s emotional development, creativity, and active citizenship through enriching artistic experiences.
As part of this project, TADA is collaborating for two years (from November 2023 to October 2025) with four European organizations: Step Institute and Solska Impro Liga in Slovenia, Redial Partnership in Ireland and La Xixa Teatre in Spain. Together, we are exploring new methods to make theater more accessible to young people. Through exchanges, training sessions and creative workshops. We are paving the way to stimulate young people’s imagination through improvisation, expression, and storytelling.
In March, a class from the Anderlecht antenne already took part in two days of ateliers and an excursion in collaboration with Théâtre Les Tanneurs. In May, two alumni and a staff member from TADA alumni team will also travel to Slovenia for five days of theater activities.
In Belgium & France, educational inequality is a major challenge. Therefore TADA and IKIGAI (a similar organisation to TADA, based in Bordeaux) combine forces. Together, we aspire to develop a method to reach more teens and have more impact by working in and with the schools on a regular basis, involving the community around the school. We want to broaden students' perspectives, enhance their sense of belonging, citizenship and well-being, support and inspire teachers, strengthen urban connections between schools, students, teachers, businesses and citizens.
Firstly TADA and IKIGAI will lay out the fundamentals by sharing current best practices and formulating joint focus points and questions to experiment on. Involving teachers and teens is crucial to stay close to the actual needs from the start. Secondly we will organize activities in our partnering schools to integrate best practices and develop additional ones. These will be refined with the schools, shared internally and externally and included in the next year.
